Beautiful skin comes from exceptional skincare and healthy eating habits. But what are the best things to do for your skin? There are so many tips and tricks out that, what are trends, what aren’t? As an esthetician, Linda knows! Here are her top 11 tips for better skin:
Drink a shot of chlorophyll or a glass of green juice every day to brighten, oxygenate, hydrate, & de-puff your skin. (Don’t like the taste? You can find chlorophyll supplements at health food stores.)
Omega-3 fatty acid strengthen your skin’s moisture barrier. Up your intake putting flax seeds in salads or smoothies! Flaxseed oil benefits skin and health.
AWS. Always wear sunblock. Even on overcast days UV rays can damage & prematurely age your skin.
Skincare tip 4: Hydrate inside & out. Drink lots of water & moisturize with a light creme (like LMB’s Essential Creme) twice a day.
Hands off! Touching your face with dirty hands spreads bacteria, causes breakouts & leads to increased wrinkles.
Clean make up brushes regularly to avoid clogged pores & acne. To clean: Put a drop of a mild shampoo into the palm of your hand. Wet the bristles with lukewarm water. Brush the bristles on your palm to distribute the shampoo into the brush. Avoid wetting the metal part and the base of the brush hairs. Carefully rinse the shampoo out & squeeze out the water with a towel. Lay the brushes on their side with the bristles hanging off the edge of the counter to dry.
Use a gentle exfoliant 2-3 times per week to remove dirt & dead skin and freshen your complexion.
Sleeping eight hours a night helps keep skin young & resilient. Skin also benefits from regularly cleaned linens & silk pillowcases.”, which can help prevent wrinkles and even keep your hair from getting knotted overnight!
Avoid direct heat sources like campfires–exposure to intense heat can cause inflammation & collagen breakdown.
Eating your vitamins is great for your health and complexion, but your skin needs more. Make sure to apply a topical antioxidant (like the cleansers, serums, and cremes from LMB’s skincare shop) daily.
Use a retinoid night cream (like LMB’s Vitamin A Creme) before bed every night; your body can’t process enough vitamin A from food to reduce signs of aging and increase collagen production in skin.
