Aloe Vera

You’ve probably heard of aloe vera. It grows easily in tropical climates and you can keep a small potted one on your kitchen window ledge. It’s said to have healing powers, and we put it in our LMB Ageless Skincare’s Essential Vitamin Moisture Creme.

But what can it really do?

  1. Aloe is a powerful moisturizer that softens skin without clogging pores.
  2. Aloe helps wounds (like small cuts and burns) heal more quickly and can even dull the pain from minor burns. In fact, studies have shown that first and second degree burns treated with aloe vera heal more than a week sooner than burns not treated with aloe.
  3. It treats sunburn by reducing inflammation, cooling the skin, and replenishing its moisture.
  4. Aloe contains vitamins C and E, as well as beta carotene, which help reduce inflammation and other signs of aging. They also improve skin’s elasticity, helping to prevent fine lines from forming.
  5. Aloe’s antimicrobial properties help combat acne. It also helps reduce the inflammation and redness from blemishes.
  6. Aloe vera is an astringent so it can reduce pore size, making skin look smooth and preventing breakouts.

No wonder why the ancient Egyptians called aloe vera the “plant of immortality.”
